Emily MacGriff, Owner and Writing Guide
Emily is primarily a poet but has completed a full length play, handful of short stories, novel and is in the process of writing a memoir. Her writing pulls from experiences working on expedition ships as a wilderness guide in the polar regions (Antarctica and the High Arctic), the South Pacific and British Isles. Most of her 20s were spent living and working aboard expedition vessels doing everything from observing Polar bears in Svalbard to having tea with the Asaro Mudmen in Papua New Guinea. She is mostly retired from shipboard work and passionate about sharing her love for writing and literature. She received an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2022 and is based in Grosse Pointe Farms with her husband and children.
